History

The department of banking was established at the Humanitarian-Technical Faculty by the order of the Rector of Georgian Technical University on December 1, 1995; 
Later the department was called:
2007-2009 Department of Management Economics and Business, Direction of Finance and Banking,
Since 2009 - the Banking and Insurance Business

Since the founding head of the department and the direction - a full professor Anton Ingorokva.
